Delaware gas prices rose during the past week, with a five cent jump between Thursday and Friday, AAA report.
The state saw a brief decline in prices after Labor Day after a run-up linked to flooding at a Midwestern refinery and the holiday travel period.
Reasons for the most recent increase, which also showed up in the national average price, may be due to the after-affects of the flooding, refinery maintenance or regional supply issues.
Bargains are available from warehouse clubs, BJ's and Costco in northern Delaware. Both were charging $2.90 or slightly less for regular.
Meanwhile, the price of crude oil has dropped below $62 a barrel on weak economic news and could lead to lower charges at the pump in the fall, barring international incidents or storms in the gulf.
If crude oil prices stay low, it may take some time before they make their way to stations and convenience stores.
